to this point, i am now 1 of the millions of people all over the world who had watched the most anticipated harry potter movie of the year! and according to my reliable source, it hit to a box office hit! S93.7 million in gross opening weekend... breaking the record of shrek 2!
i decided to watch with my bandmates together with kuya gavin, jeffcrazy and my bandmates girlfriends at robinsons galleria, since i havent experienced it to watch there...
harry potter and the prizoner of azkaban:
i definately love the book. but never do i expect anything less on the movie.. because before i watched it i searched and get some infos bout the director, alfonso cuaron and some other casts. although at first i expected changes and different styles particularly on camera angles, cinematography, special effects and on acting... i respect others opinion bwt the movie like.. lacking of some vital explenations and some new added scenes which are not on the book itself. and for me, this is the art of films! in order to have a good movie, one must reinvent and reformat some scenes to be cinematic. talagang ganyan pag movies, expect the unexpected. some movies didnt have to be more loyal to the books, na dapat kaparehong kapareho nung nasa novel. movies will be useless if there will be no changes that will impart.
here are some novels, comics & fictional books that make it to the silver screen:
1. a walk to remember
2. LOTR
3. the green mile
4. the diary of anne frank
5. to kill a mocking bird
6. gone with the wind
7. oliver
8. le miserable
9. spiderman
10. snow falling on cedars
as for the third instalment of harry potter, it really defines the word change. very alfonso cuaronish style of film...
comparing to chris columbus's harry part 1 and 2, columbus really is devoted to the book. kaya for me npaka biased kung ikokompare ng ganun ganun lang ang part 3 sa part and 2.
i'll give it 3 out of 5.
